Centre for Governance and Sustainability (CGS)

Corporate governance (CG) is one of two research pillars undertaken by the Centre for Governance and Sustainability (formerly known as Centre for Governance, Institutions and Organisations). We are the national assessors for the Singapore Governance and Transparency Index. Together with the Singapore Institute of Directors, we are appointed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore as the domestic ranking body for the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard. Centre for Governance and Sustainability (CGS) research on corporate sustainability (CS) began in 2015, a year before sustainability reporting was introduced by the Singapore Exchange in 2016. We have also added research on global value chains sustainability in 2018. This research initiative is helmed by senior research fellow Alex Capri.
